Music Video Analysis

 History-One direction 

This music video was released on January 26th 2016. The music video is of the band reminiscing over all of the good times they’ve had together. This being because this was the last song they released as a band. While this song isn’t about a romantic love, its about a friendship love and flashbacks. We can tell when the flashbacks roll as they’re in a black and white filter. In a film  or music video when we go back in time, to make it obvious we use black and white as that’s what was used in the early days of filming. This is relatable to people who have lost someone or split up from someone and they go back through all the memories and remember it was a lovely time to be celebrated and they will always be apart of your life.

This music video is about two people finding together at a very young age and growing old together. We see them fall in love. get married, buy their first house and have their children. This is very similar to my music video in the scenes that my couple met each other at a young age and fell in love but it also shows them making memories together. There's a few slow motions that are also in this, a technique which I used within my music video.

I picked this as my third music video to write about as in this I was inspired by the camera angles, the styles of shots, close ups when lip syncing and the occasional slow motions. By doing this in the music video it made it more fast paced and flow better. It felt like something was always happening which is what I wanted in my music video so that it didn't get boring. I also like that this had a warm tone of colour on the video.

Taylor swift- you belong with me

I chose this one as my last music video as this perfectly showed a story telling music video which is exactly what I wanted to display in my music video. I needed something that showed meaning within the video. This links to how my music video tells the story of the couple growing old together through the reminisces of the widower.
